O'Loughlin to keynote at Fulbright/Kennan event, Kiev

Chaban and O'Loughlin combine perceptions/framing and strategic narrative approaches to explain how elites and ordinary citizens come to understand their country's role in the world.

The Kennan Institute Kyiv Office and Fulbright Program in Ukraine are pleased to host a lecture “Crisis, conflict and critical diplomacy:  Narratives and perceptions of the EU in Ukraine” by Professor Natalia Chaban and NewPolCom's Professor Ben O’Loughlin, to be held on Monday, 27 November, at 5:00 p.m. at the Fulbright Office (20 Esplanadna Street, Suite 904, M "Palats Sportu", Kyiv).

The event will be moderated by Professor Svitlana Zhabotynska, Cherkasy Bohdan Khmelnytskyi National University, Fulbright Scholar Program, 1994-1995, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, IL, 2000-2001, University of California.

Chaban and O'Loughlin will discuss findings from their Jean Monnet-funded study of media, policy and public opinion in Ukraine and Israel-Palestine.
